Olympic Gold Medalist to Speak at WKU Freshman Assembly

The WKU class of 2016 is in for a treat September 4!  At their freshman assembly, Olympic Gold Medalist, and former Hilltopper swimmer, Claire Donahue will be the special speaker. 

The assembly will begin promptly at 6pm at Diddle Arena.  All freshman are expected to attend the assembly unless they have a class that night.

WKU President Gary Ransdell will lead the ceremony which is intended to foreshadow their graduation ceremony is 2020.  Freshmen will receive a “WKU 2012: The Beginning…” lapel pin to signify the beginning of their college experience.

Donahue was the first WKU Olympic athlete to win a gold medal at the London Summer Olympics.
