OPD Seeking Information on Driveby Shootings

The Owensboro Police Department is continuing to investigate a series of driveby shootings.  

On July 22nd, three drive-by shootings were reported to police at the following locations: 

• 600 block of Poplar Street

• West 7th Street and Plum Street

• 300 block of West 8th Street

 These shootings were reported to have occurred between 7:39 P.M. and 10:15 P.M. on July 22nd. 

Officers have since taken a subsequent report of a 4th shooting at 615 Dornell Street. The homeowner was away during the overnight hours and neighbors now report hearing gunshots around 12:30 A.M. on July 23rd (just over 2 hours after the last initial call). Several bullet holes were found on the exterior of the residence.

On July 23rd, at 7:43 P.M., officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 1800 block of Hall Street. No injuries were reported and evidence was collected from the scene. 

The investigation into all of these incidents is on-going.
