Owensboro Woman Inspires Others Through Her Artwork
Amie Jo has been involved in making inspirational art and sharing her pieces on social media throughout the pandemic. She will even draw or paint something for you too! Here's her story and some of her artwork.
Amie Jo Strader Parks loves to draw and paint in her free time. She's been doing it for years to bring hope to others. I first noticed her artwork when she started posting in the Facebook Group, Owensboro Helps. The artwork caught my eye, but her words held my interest. We'll get to that in a minute.
Amie Jo went to West Hopkins High School and currently lives in Owensboro with her husband of 15 years, Floyd Parks. She's Mom to a sweet lab beagle mix named Babygirl. When I asked Amie Jo about her artwork and what inspires her she said, "I draw things the way I see them. I have always looked at the positive of life!" When asked more about her drawings and paintings, "I really wanted to give some hope to others last year when covid hit. My art comes from my heart. I have lots of art in a small tote and I never like to FOLD MY ART," she stated.
