Owensboro Woman Launches Personal Website To Share Her Story (GALLERY)
Most people have a social media account of some sort in this day and age. What about your own website? If you had one what would it be called and what would you use it for? One gal from Owensboro launched her own personal website and we are loving it.
Meghan Marie Schwartz of BeingMeghan.com is paving her own path. She decided she wanted a place to tell her story. When I asked her why she created her own website this is what she told me;
I created Beingmeghan.com because I decided I wanted my own place for my blog. I have blogged for a few years and it’s been really beneficial for me. I love to write... I intend on using my blog to inspire other people to be themselves, grow, love, and overcome things they are going through in life. I always wish I had someone to teach me and tell me the things I know now, that I didn’t have when I was going through difficult obstacles in my life. Overcoming my obstacles and healing from things that happened to me didn’t happen overnight. It took time and it took patience. I was born into an unconventional life, I wasn’t raised how people expected me to be, I had struggles and I had battles, but I wasn’t going to be a victim of circumstance. I am going to be the best version of myself. I’m not everyone’s cup of tea and I’m ok with that. I am not better than anyone else, but I am different from everyone else. This is my story. I love me. I am always going to be me. I can’t let what other people think of me change who I am, the morals I have, or the values I have. Society makes people think they have to look a certain way, dress a certain way, and believe in things. BUT you are your own person. You get to choose who you are, what you do, and what you don’t do. Write your own story.
I totally agree with Meghan. Social Media gives everyone a platform to share but often people take posts out of context. With your own website, it's your space a place of comfort to dream, write, express, share, basically whatever you want to do and if someone doesn't like it they don't have to click the link.
Angel here and growing up I was never any good at writing. I bombed my freshman year of college English 101 class. I didn't like to be told what I had to write. Then Facebook came along and life happened and I learned I loved expressing my feelings in story or blog posts. I realized I wasn't alone when I shared and that others could relate to what I was going through at the time. Even if they weren't they would offer a word of encouragement or just let me know they were there. Since I started working for WBKR I have been given the opportunity to share my life with thousands of people. It's freeing, scary as crap, and also super fun. I wasn't meant to be an English major but I was good at writing about life.
Many people are under the impression that a website has to cost a lot of money. Meghan is my kind of girl and found a great deal on her website and shared her secrets with me.
Starting your own website is pretty affordable. First I bought my domain, beingmeghan.com from Godaddy.com who offers $4.99 domains for the first year with promo code cjccpncc . While on the Godaddy website, I found out, godaddy.com offers $15 a month websites that are really user-friendly to design and you have all kinds of features you can add. That was the most affordable option I found. I got the first 30 days free.
Meghan has Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) which is the most common hormone abnormality of reproductive-aged women, occurring in up to 10% of women of that age. Meghan wants to be a voice for other women just like her and those who struggle with being different.
On her website you can find a number of different things like BeingJackJack which is all things about her precious pooch. JackJack has his own Instagram page too! You can check out her Boots & Roots Boutique which is super cute apparel and more, book a photography session at MMP and you can get to know this amazing young lady who has put herself out there to the world in hopes of helping even one other individual.
I think it's amazing. I think she is amazing. We love BeingMeghan.com and we think you will too.
