Peggy Inklebarger named president KOSAA

Peggy Inklebarger, administrative assistant to the superintendent of Daviess County Public Schools, was recently named president of the Kentucky Organization of Superintendents’ Administrative
Assistants. Inklebarger has served in her current role for 17 years.

She is a charter member of the KOSAA Board of Directors and has previously served as program planning chairman. She has presented programs on organizing successful opening day programs on the state level to KOSAA and the Kentucky School Boards Association; and participated in an “eMeeting” presentation on the national level at the National School Boards Association conference in April.

KOSAA is designed to provide support, training and activities for administrative assistants to superintendents,
deputy/assistant superintendents and boards of education, specifically in the areas of communication and legal compliance issues. KOSAA provides mentoring for individuals new to the position, and recognition through a Professional Assistants Academy to encourage professional growth and renewal. Members also network and share resources and information with one another.
There are about 155 KOSAA members representing 120 school districts across Kentucky. The group is a partner organization to the Kentucky School Boards Association.

Inklebarger, who also serves as recording secretary to the DCPS Board of Education, said the organization’s goals for 2012-13 are to develop leadership skills among its members and to focus on strengthening positive relationships and teambuilding within a school district and community.

Inklebarger said serving as president of the administrative organization is a great honor. “The program and presentations at our sessions provide an avenue of training and support,” she said. “Because of
this organization, I am better prepared to provide assistance to the staff and students we serve.”
Inklebarger attended Southern Baptist College in Walnut Ridge, Ark., and is an active member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She and her husband Jerry have two daughters: Lee is a media specialist at Foust Elementary School and Cortney is the curriculum facilitator at Cravens Elementary School.
