According to Keith Todd a contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet has started construction on a new turn lane along US 231 at the Western Kentucky Parkway Interchange south of Beaver Dam in Ohio County.

This work will include grade and drain work required to widen the roadway to add a center turn lane.  Two-lane traffic will be maintained through the work zone, but traffic will have to be diverted around the construction from time to time.

There will be strict 35 mile per hour speed limit in this work zone to maintain safety for workers and the public.  Motorists should be alert for flaggers and signage providing directions through this work zone.

Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and construction personnel are working along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.

The estimated completion date for this project is November 15th.
