If you thought the road closed signs were going to be put away till the next rainy season, think again. Sewer and road crews are out in force attempting to get as many projects finished as possible this summer and early fall. One only has to drive around a few minutes to realize there is no shortage of word in the ashpalt industry.

To make my point, I spent :40 minutes Wednesday morning driving around and taking pictures of detour, road closed, and constructin signs. I took so many pictures I almost ran out of room on the memory card.

For those without patience remember how bad things were just a few years ago everytime it rained? Not so today due to the sewer work that has been and continues to be done. I will admit there is a ton of road work from Byers and Veach, Old Hartford, Downtown (Oh Lord LOTS downtown), Scherm Rd., Booth Ave. and much more. The streets that are riddled with potholes are being resurfaced making for smoother rides and less wear and tear on our vehicles suspension systems. At last, our tax dollars being used for something we actually benefit from.

So the next time you start to say something about being forced to wait for a dump truck to clear the road or have to take a short detour remember how much better it will be in a few days or weeks. It is sort of like going to the dentist to get a tooth filled. It feels soooooo much better when the work is done.
