The 2011 Pumpkinfest begins this Friday at the Owensboro Sportscenter.  The Owensboro PumpkinFest was started in 2003 by the Glenmary Sisters as a community event. Since its humble beginnings, the Owensboro PumpkinFest has grown into one of the region's top family festivals.

This year the festival will feature carnival rides, pumpkin sales, Hampster Ball, several music groups in concert, food, a pet parade, pagents and a scavenger hunt for kids. All at a price that will not beat the family budget. The 3-day schedule is packed with activities.

The music lineup is great ranging from Bluegrass, to Gospel, Southern Rock to Country and about everything in between. An Elvis Tribute is also planned. Owensboro's Got Talent is another competition that is sure to bring folks out to this year P'Fest.

A silent auction, kids games and a few new suprises are planned and admission is FREE. The weatherman is predicting a great early fall weekend so be sure to make your plans to attend. With things going on inside and outside the Sportscenter the entire family will have a great time.

In short it's 3 days of family fun and it benefits the Glenmary Sisters. I plan on taking the Grandkids and hope to see you there.
