The walls of the Owensboro Museum of Fine Arts are
getting ready to have a new look, courtesy of two new exhibits. Both exhibits
will start with an opening reception on Saturday, January 21, 2012 from
6:30-8:30 pm.

The first exhibit is the Owensboro Art Guild’s 50th
Annual Juried Exhibition. This exhibit is part of the celebration of the
Owensboro Art Guild’s 50th anniversary. The Art Guild’s exhibition
will feature works from regional artists and will be judged by Neil DiTeresa,
Professor Emeritus of Painting and Drawing at Berea College. The exhibition
will feature numerous Purchase and Merit awards. There will be an awards
presentation at 7 pm on the night of opening.

To coincide with the Art Guild’s exhibition, the Museum
will host an exhibit entitled “The Owensboro Perspective.” The exhibit will feature works from
Owensboro artists that have been active in the last 50 years. The 50 works will
include a variety of pieces including paintings and sculptures.

Both exhibits will run from the opening through February
26, 2012. More information can be found at http://www.omfa.us/.
