Over the last couple of months, I've talked a lot with Eyewitness News Chief Meteorologist Wayne Hart about the unusually large amount of rain we got in February and March.

So when I saw that a disaster declaration had been approved for 57 counties in Kentucky, I started looking for counties here in the tri-state.

Hancock, Henderson, Webster, Union, and Butler were the five counties in our region that made the cut for federal disaster assistance following flooding in the late winter months of 2019.

Public assistance for repair work needed for bridges, roads, and other forms of infrastructure will now be granted.
