WKU Grad and Louisville Native Hurt Wins ‘Master Chef’ [VIDEO]
The Fox reality cooking competition MasterChef has had two Kentucky home cooks on the show before. But we now have our first winner. GO TOPS!
25-year-old Louisville native and WKU graduate Gerron Hurt was announced as the season 9 winner on Wednesday night.
Hurt was encouraged by his fiancee' to audition and he did in Nashville where he is currently an English teacher.

Hurt won $250,000 as part of the title. He will be a featured instructor at Camp MasterChef next year. It's a culinary camp for kids ages 8-16.
Brandi Mudd, a teacher from Irvington/Breckenridge County, was a runner-up two seasons ago. Daniel "Dan" Wu of Lexington competed during season 5.
