Beginning in the fall of 2019, there will be new admission standards for beginning freshman at Western Kentucky University.

Incoming freshmen must have at least a 2.0 cumulative unweighted GPA and Composite Admissions Index score of at least 60.

Students who were admitted with a 2.0 to 2.49 GPA will be asked complete the newly-formed five-week Summer Scholars transition program that will begin in next July.

The new 2.0 GPA standard for four-year schools was voted on by the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education in June. An ACT score of 20 or SAT equivalent score of 1020 or greater is already a requirement for admission to WKU.
