More than a weeks worth of rain has driven some Daviess Countians from their homes. You only have to drive to the south side of Towne Square Mall on Hwy 431 to see the destruction flood waters are causing.

After the rains finally ended late Monday morning the 1490 WOMI camera was again put to work to show the flooding that many are dealing with.  The rainwater is right up to the parking lots of Cracker Barrel and Sam's Club. The heavy rains of Sunday and early Monday caused Daviess County Schools to close.

These pictures were taken between J. R. Miller Blvd and Hill Bridge Rd. along Hwy. 431.

There is no need for words. The pictures tell the story. As you view these pictures remember these are corn and soybean fields not riverfront or lakeside property.

Jerry Fisher stopped by as I was taking the photos of Southern Oaks Elementary School. "The city did a real good job with their drainage problems the last 5-7 years. I hope we can do someting in the county to stop what is becomming a yearly problem", he said.
