"This is our sixth destination from St. Louis and all of us at Cape Air are excited about being able to serve Owensboro" said Cape Air Founder and CEO, Dan Wolf. "We have seen ridership increase steadily in St. Louis, where we serve more than 70,000 passengers annually. Much of that success can be attributed to our codeshare agreement with American Airlines. This easy connection to American means you can book your entire trip on one itinerary and check your bags through to your final destination." Cape Air also sells joint tickets and connects luggage with Delta, United, Continental, US Airways and Frontier.

Owensboro Mayor Ron Payne said "Owensboro now has timely national and global connections for the business traveler as well as the leisure traveler. The convenience, frequency of flights and low price of Cape Air service is certainly an economic development tool for Owensboro. Convenient air service is just one more piece of the puzzle which is raising Owensboro’s amenities to that of a small world-class city."

Andrew Bonney, Vice President of Planning for Cape Air is schedued to be on the Joe Lowe Morning Show on 1490 WOMI Tuesday November 14 at 7:20 a.m. to discuss the flights, schedules and other information about this exciting new travel option.

Enthusiasm for the start of the Owensboro to St. Louis service is shared by representatives from the business community. Jerry Morris, President and Chief Executive Officer for Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline, Inc. said, "Southern Star is headquartered in Owensboro, Kentucky and has approximately 160 employees at its headquarters now. But the company has pipeline facilities in seven states in the Midwest. Currently, 100% of our customers and two-thirds of our employees are west of St. Louis, with a concentration in Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma. Many of our employees travel regularly from Owensboro to those states and from those states to Owensboro. Having economical, reliable daily flights between Owensboro and St. Louis should provide beneficial travel options for our business."
