Shelia Miller*, legendary choral music director at Daviess County High School for many years, announced the formation of an Alumni Choir of former student musicians earlier this year. The choir has been rehearsing and has announced a performance at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, at First Christian Church, 700 J.R. Miller Blvd., Owensboro.

Individuals who studied under Ms. Miller from 1964-2007 are currently rehearsing Christmas music, including arrangements they first performed under Shelia Miller’s direction while students at DCHS. Sunday’s performance will also include a sing-along with audience participation.

Former students who studied under Ms. Miller at DCHS may contact her at (270) 684-5548 for more information about the Alumni Choir.

*Shelia Miller is widely recognized as the pre-eminent music teacher in our area. She retired as arts and humanities/choral and music theory instructor from Daviess County Public Schools after 42 years of teaching.
