While going thru the closet in the lobby of  the radio station, Roxianne came across three 8x10 black and white photos. There were a few notes along with them but since these seem to be from the 30's or 40's and considering the current station was built in 1988 it is safe to say these have not been seen since then.

One Picture is easy. It is Maurice Davis and his wife Clarice. Davis was a minister on the air prior to 1945. I am told he used to refer to his donations at "snowflakes".

I have no idea who the young ladies are. They look to be twins. I am guessing they were on 1490 WOMI when the station used to air live music. I love the dresses with the hearts on them. One more thing to note is that there are no tattoos or piercings. Just a couple of simple hair bows.

The last photo have been identified in some notes as "Big Six" Henderson. He was a well known Kentucky lawman who is remembered for shutting done and destroying stills in the region. The others in the photo are not identified but the location seems to be around 5th and Lewis Streets in Owensboro. The little guy must have been one bad dued to be handcuffed, shackeled and have three guards escorting him. I also love the white shoes.

Now the question is......Can anyone tell us who these people are? Is the information I present here correct? What are the approximate dates of these pictures? Do you or family members have any additional info?

I would love to hear from you and perhaps have you as a guest on the Joe Lowe Morning Show to discuss Owensboro history.

Anyone with information is invited to email me at joe@1490womi.com.
