If you love to fish or if you have never fished and are ready to go at it, this weekend is YOUR weekend.

Although I'd imagine if you're an avid angler, all weekends are YOUR weekends, free weekends ratchet it up a notch or two, right?

This Saturday and Sunday, June 1st and 2nd, is the weekend the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife will let any resident or non-resident fish for free.

WLKY/Louisville says that while no license or permit will be necessary, there will be a limit to the number and size of fish you can keep.

In fact, several parks around the Commonwealth are planning big events to celebrate the free fishing weekend.

That includes Panther Creek Park in Daviess County where Take a Kid Fishing Day happens Saturday at the Feather Landing Shelter. Registration will open at 8AM for the tournament--for kids ages 3-15 years--and there will be prizes awarded and lunch provided.

Free fishing this weekend in Kentucky!

Enjoy!
