Friday After 5 – August 31 Plus a Special Announcement!

It's the weekend Owensboro!  Time to head down to the river and celebrate with Friday After 5!  Now, this is usually the last FA5 for the Summer, but not this year!  This year, we're getting a BONUS Friday After 5!!!  Read on to find out more! 

Brescia University welcomes their class of 2016 by sponsoring “Insulated” on the main stage.  Called “Owensboro’s Hottest New Band”, this quartet rocked the Courtyard earlier this season and is the only band in our history to go from the courtyard stage to the main stage in the same year.  They play a variety of hits including the latest dance songs and billboard hits plus classics.

UniFirst Stage in the Courtyard:   “Jubalson”. Brian Ott, Phil Turner and Emily Vacek make up this talented trio. They began playing together in high school and then Brian met Emily at U of L and started singing with her at worship services on campus.  She joined the band the next summer and in 2010 they went into the studio to record their EP ‘Wake’.  Great talent.  Great show beginning at 7pm on the courtyard.

Gospel on the River:  Our final GOTR concert of the year featuring “Firm Foundation”, “The Greesons” and “Crossmen Quartet” live on stage in Cannon Hall beginning at 7pm sponsored all season by Glenn Family Services.  There is no admission but we will be collecting donated canned goods to help restock the shelves at Owensboro’s Help Office.

Kroger Street Fair:  Buzz Lightyear and a special guest will be flying in from Cartoon land plus we’ll have Owensboro Inflatables on site, free popcorn and balloon animals for the kids.  Oh, don’t want to forget the spectacular new Riverfront Park is open, too.

PreUnions for this Friday:  Daviess County Class of 2012,  Apollo High School Class of 1982, Owensboro Catholic High School Class of 1977 and Owensboro High School Class of 1962 celebrating their 50th Reunion!

Plus the Friday After 5 Foto Booth!

All events are free and in the event of rain, we’ll bring “Insulated” into the Jody Berry Theatre and “Jubalson” into Woodwards.

This would normally be our final Friday After 5 of the season.  However, next week, we will have a BONUS Friday After 5 celebrating the RiverPark Center’s 20th Anniversary sponsored by Hafer Associates.
