Congressman Brett Guthrie (KY-02) today voted in support of H.R. 4078, the “Red Tape Reduction and Small Business Job Creation Act.”

“Having worked at my family’s small manufacturing business, I know firsthand how burdensome many of the federal government’s regulations are,” said Congressman Guthrie. “Coupled with our current economic situation, it is hard to break even, much less grow businesses and expand workforces.”

H.R. 4078 would prevent the current Administration from imposing any new regulations, save for health and emergency, until the unemployment rate, currently at 8.2 percent, drops below 6 percent. The bill would cut government red tape and create a business friendly climate to encourage job creation.

“President Obama vowed that his Administration would review regulations that may be excessive. In the meantime, this Administration has implemented 120 new regulations that are crippling America’s small businesses and adding to the already high amount of uncertainty. It’s time to put jobs first,” added Congressman Guthrie.
