Have You Ever Read Owensboro’s Wikipedia Page and Is Everything Accurate?

I've had any number of teachers tell me, over the years, that Wikipedia is ABSOLUTELY FORBIDDEN as source material for, say, a research paper. (Do they still call them that? It's been so long.)

That's because anyone can go onto any page and log in and just change something.

So, if, for example, you had a mind to go to Abraham Lincoln's Wikipedia page and let everyone know he came in second at the 1997 Daytona 500, you could.

(By the way, he didn't.)

I will say that I do believe that most of what I read on Wikipedia is true because it SOUNDS true, but what do I know?

So, I ask you, have you ever read ALL of Owensboro's Wikipedia page? Have you ever encountered anything while reading it that didn't ring true and it turned out it WASN'T true?

I mean, I was just looking at it and read that Temple Adath Israel on Daviess Street is one of the country's oldest synagogues.

I didn't know that.

And, fortunately, there are links on the synagogue's Wikipedia page that bear that out.

That's really cool.

And, of course, I know that a lot of the information on the page is true because it's common knowledge.

But, what about you? Do you know for a fact that something on the Owensboro Wikipedia page ISN'T a fact?

I'd be interested to know.
