How a Mom and Newborn Kittens Were Found in the Woods [PHOTOS]
This is a true story about a Mom and her kittens who were dumped in the woods by their owner. A hero pup, named Thor, steps in to help the family and saves the day. We love a happy ending!
The way this true story begins is heartbreaking. The owner of this precious Cat and her kittens, decided that they'd be better off in the woods to fend for themselves. Who knows how long they braved the elements. Yesterday, the heavens opened and they received a second chance at life. It all happened by accident, but gosh darn it, we're so glad it did! Now, Thor steps into the story.
Denise Bell and her search and rescue dog, Thor were out training. It was just a typical day for this smart, handsome pup. Then, he spotted something in the woods. Denise and Thor stepped in to take a closer look. Wait. What? Is that a Cat and wait.... are those her babies? "What are they doing here?", Denise asks Thor. "There's no way someone would have dumped these precious creatures here, right"? Thor looked puzzled. Thor had no idea that his smart nose and ears had found something so precious.
Mom and her babies looked up at Denise and Thor with such sad eyes. Momma asked, "Can you please help me and my children?" With pangs of hunger Momma added, "I've been here a while and I'm afraid for my babies. I've done everything I can to keep them safe and loved. Can you help us find our family?" Denise looked down at that beautiful face and said, "Honey, your family didn't want you any more. But, don't you worry, I'll help you and make sure this never happens again. You'll be with a loving family soon." Denise knew that she needed to call the team at the Daviess County Animal Shelter right away so they'd have a fighting chance.
Thor is and always will be a hero in this community and we're SO thankful for this sweet pup. Take a nice nap. You deserve it!
Now, we need your help to make this the ultimate happy ending for this precious furry family! They're with foster families until they can find YOUR family. They're safe.
Is this a beautiful sight or what? Makes this girls heart happy!
They didn't ask to be born. They didn't ask to be thrown away. They are asking for a safe place to call home.
Please contact the shelter directly if you can help. You must live in Daviess County to foster.
Daviess County Animal Shelter
I won't judge the owners, as I don't know the circumstances that brought them to make this decision. But, I will say this. The Daviess County Animal Shelter is open 6 days a week, so truly there's no excuse. Let's watch out for our furry friends and ask for help if needed.
