Salmonella Contamination Results in Massive Beef Recall Across US
6.5 Million Pounds - that is how much beef "non-intact" product, including ground beef, that has been suspected of salmonella contamination. It is being recalled across the country and has been sold at a number of retailers, including Walmart. At least 57 people have become sick from the contaminated meat in 16 different states across the US. You are encouraged to check the label on your meat products. In particular you are looking for "EST. 267" on the USDA mark of inspection. If you do have any of the tainted meat in your fridge, do not eat it. Return it to the place of purchase for a refund or throw it away.
