If you haven't made plans for a summer vacation quite yet in 2022, never fear, you won't have to go far in order to have a nice little getaway.

I have a soft spot in my heart for dogs and chickens and I'm pretty fond of treehouses, too. That's one reason I'm psyched to share an enchanting Missouri treehouse with you that includes all of those things.

It's hard to be this close to St. Louis yet still be private. But, that's exactly how I'd describe a cabin hidden on a hillside near Defiance, Missouri that includes a private lake and horses.

I have to admit that I didn't know Missouri had an alpine lake, but it's true. It's also accurate to say that alpine lake is just west of St. Louis and it's possible to live in the trees next to it.

I think I may have found the one Missouri place that checks all the boxes of a relaxing vacation. Private pool? Check. Got a hot tub? Yes, it does. What about a nice nature walk? You can do that to. Oh, and it overlooks Table Rock Lake.

Remember that treehouse you had as a kid? Well, it appears that it has now become an Airbnb in Missouri and the cool thing is you could hang there for a night for less than 50 bucks.

I haven't spoken to him directly, but I'm pretty sure Austin Powers would be quite proud of this far out Missouri tiny house. It's one you can stay in and boy does it give off a 60's "yeah, baby!" vibe.

Rope swings are underrated. There. I said it. If you don't believe me, you should see this Quincy mansion I found which has one that overlooks the mighty Mississippi River.

If your priorities for getaways include rivers and staring at the sky, I found a new tiny home that checks both of those boxes. It's literally steps from the Missouri River and also features a skylight.

When you want to relax, you really should consider goats. I didn't believe that before, but I do now after seeing an Airbnb near Mark Twain Lake that is a real goat farm.
