Things to Do in the Evansville – Henderson Area on Thanksgiving Weekend 2022

After the meal has been cooked and the in-laws retreated, what is left to do besides the dishes? Are you coming up with Call of Duty Warzone tactics on how to best score all your wanted Black Friday deals? Maybe you would rather not throw elbows for the sake of a flat-screen marked down 10% I don't blame you, I'm certainly not trying to spend half an hour attempting to 'pivot' a 55" TV into the backseat of my car. Here are some ideas on what to do with the holiday weekend.

Evansville

Hadi Shrine Circus

November the 24th- 27th, the Hadi Shrine Circus is a rain-or-shine event to bring the whole family to. The circus will be at the Ford Center starting at 5 pm. Ticket prices range from $20-$35

Trivia

Trivia night is the best night of the week, especially if you are wanting to take a break from the Thanksgiving dinner cleanup that is sure to be going down in the kitchen. Haynie's Corner Brewing Company is hosting their Thursday night trivia on Thanksgiving in their taproom starting around 6:45.

Newburgh

Stand-up Comedy

There will be a stand-up comedy show at Jennings Street Public House. Tickets are $15, and seating is limited so buy your tickets in advance. This event takes place on Saturday, November 26th from 8-10 pm.

Drinksgiving Bingo

Also taking place at the Jennings Street Public House is a 21 & up event on November the 23rd from 3-9 pm. Bring friends and family to enjoy several rounds of bingo with prizes up for grabs with each game. There is no fee to play however due to limited space, reservations are recommended. Lashbrooke's Barbeque will be serving orders starting at 5 pm.

Catch a Movie

Malco Theaters in Owensboro might be a great option if you're looking to kick back and enjoy a new release film while getting out of the house. Here is a list of some movies currently showing and those soon to be released. Check out Malco's website for information on specific showtimes.

 Ice Skating

If strapping some blades to the bottoms of your feet and gracefully or ungracefully sliding your way across the ice rink is more your jam, you are in luck. Energy on Ice is making a return this cold-weather season. The rink is located behind the Owensboro Convention Center and offers up great views while you're trying to not sprain an ankle practicing your triple Lutz. The ice rink opens on Friday, November 25th, and will be open from 5 pm until 9 pm.

Energy on Ice will be having a Glow Party on November 26th from 2-9 pm. To have the best experience it's recommended to bundle up in white, neon, or fluorescent attire. This is an all-ages event.

The ice rink will remain open until January 1st.

Bowling

Southern Lanes- Owensboro Bowling for Turkeys is taking place on Thanksgiving Day from 5 pm until midnight

Turkey Trot 5k

If running miles before thanksgiving dinner is your cup of tea, registration is ongoing for this athletic event until November 23rd. The registration cost goes towards an amazing cause and begins at Presbyterian Church located at 100 S. Main St. Henderson, 42420

This 5k will benefit the Brain Injury Adventure Camp.
