COVID-19 Vaccine: Who is Eligible and How to Get It in Western Kentucky
The COVID-19 vaccines are rolling out nationally and being made available in tiers. There are multiple locations in the tri-state where you can have yours administered.
Having provided vaccines to healthcare personnel and those living in long-term care and assisted living facilities, Owensboro Health Regional Hospital is now giving them to those 70 years of age or older. Here's how to get yours scheduled:
However, before you get your vaccine, there are things of which you need to be aware and you can find that list on the OHRH website on the same page where you schedule your appointment.
Deaconess in Henderson is also a location where you can get your vaccine. They are currently accepting appointments for those aged 70 or older. But if you are aged 60 to 69, you can register to be on the COVID-19 vaccine call list.
Please know that there are reasons NOT to schedule your vaccination at this time. If you are pregnant or nursing (talk to your doctor); if you've tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 90 days; if you've had any other type of vaccine in the last 14 days; or if you've had a serious reaction or anaphylactic reaction to prior vaccinations (again, talk to your doctor).
The federal government is paying for the vaccine, itself, but there will be a fee for the administration of it.
