Habitat for Humanity Shaped by FAITH
Virginia Braswell is a very special lady! She used to be my neighbor when I was a child. I remember her picking up all the neighborhood kids during the Summer Months and taking them to vacation bible school. Virginia was the sweetest person I knew and she still is!
Virginia was named one of this year's recipients of the "Bishop John J. McRaith Providing Help, Creating Hope Award." Presented by Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Owensboro. The award recognizes those who perform charitable works for those in need.
I appreciate Virginia and her work with Habitat for Humanity to help families in need. I loved hearing all about Habitat for Humanity and how many families have been helped and houses have been built locally. I am especially excited about the upcoming Women's Build that takes place on June 15-17th. This will be the 131st house Habitat for Humanity has built in our community.
There is also another Build coming up called, 'Help Build Hope' July 14-15 sponsored by the YMCA and will take place inside of the Owensboro Convention Center. Everyone can help out with this build, including children. For more information and ways you can help partner with Habitat for Humanity contact Virginia Braswell at (270) 926-6110. I thought it was appropriate Virginia show up for our Radio interview with a Hammer! The exercise she demonstrates is a Hammer Curl and it helps strengthen the muscles we use to hammer nails to help families in need!
