Last Thursday, I was at the Dairy Queen location in Beaver Dam broadcasting live for Miracle Treat Day.  There, I had the opportunity to meet Laci Minton, who drives the DQ Grill & Chill #66 car.  While she may not be old enough to drive on the road, she's an absolute beast on the track!

Even though she is only 14-years-old, Laci has already made a name for herself in the world of Legends racing.  At 12, believe it or not, she became the points champion. And, yes!  She was the first female to do so . . . and the youngest competitor ever to win the points title.  She followed that championship up the next year when, at thirteen, she defended her points crown.

Laci actually started driving when she was three-years-old.  Her cousin, Austin Steele, was a go kart racer and her dad was building engines and karts for him.  Laci told her dad that if he would build a go kart for her that she would go out and beat everyone.  And, well, she did.  The rest is local racing history.

Now, at as she prepares to enter Ohio County High School, Laci continues tearing up the race track in her new Legends car, the DQ Grill & Chill #66, which is sponsored by Mathew Canty and the Beaver Dam in Dairy Queen, where Laci had her car on display for Miracle Treat Day.  By the way, her car tops out at about 125mph!

If you'd like to learn more about the impressive career of young Laci Minton, you can check her out on social media.  Naturally, she's known as Racey Laci!  It's definitely a name she has earned behind the wheel and on the track!
