The Apollo Area Alliance will host Pride Day in their area.  The annual neighborhood clean up will be held on Saturday, April 14 from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  All residents are encouraged to join the group in picking up litter along sidewalks and streets in the neighborhood.  Volunteers are asked to meet at 8:00 a.m. at Apollo High School.  

The Wesleyan-Shawnee Neighborhood Alliance will host a neighborhood cleanup, Saturday, April 21.  The cleanup will be from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.  All residents are encouraged to join the group in picking up litter along sidewalks and streets in the neighborhood prior to the cleanup, preferably on Friday afternoon.

The Sanitation Department will provide free curbside pickup for junk furniture, appliances and other items to its residential customers in this neighborhood alliance area.  Items must be left at the curb by Friday night prior to the day of the cleanup.  If you have items to set out, please call the City Action Line at 687-4444 or e-mail cityaction@owensboro.org BY THE WEDNESDAY BEFORE THE CLEANUP.  Smaller items must be bagged or boxed.  The sanitation crews CANNOT pick up construction debris/materials, yard waste, dirt, paint or any type of liquid. 

The Apollo Area Alliance represents neighborhoods between Carter Road and Frederica Street, between the U.S. 60 Bypass and Southtown Boulevard.  The alliance area also includes Twin Lakes subdivision, south of Southtown, and neighborhoods south of Tamarack Road.  The alliance meets at 6:00 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of every month at Century Christian Church. 

The Wesleyan-Shawnee Neighborhood Alliance extends from Booth Avenue to Tamarack Road, between Frederica Street and Lewis Lane.  It also includes residents west of Lewis Lane to the U.S. 60 Bypass, between Tamarack and Scherm Roads.  The neighborhood alliance meets at 6:00 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of every other month at Kentucky Wesleyan College’s Winchester Center.
