Now that spring is finally here (or at least has made an appearance), the thoughts of outdoor activities have started popping up! And with the wind we have had the last few days it might be a fun idea to go fly a kite!

Well, that is the idea that West Louisville Elementary School had as well! P-3 students will create three different types of kites, come up with hypotheses, and conduct experiments to determine which design flies best. The activities will help them learn about physics, design, high pressure and low pressure, gravity, and other scientific principles.

And weather permitting they will have a group fly next week!

I think this is a great idea. When I was in elementary school, I think I learned more from the hands on projects then I did from the books. I think all learning should be fun. If the wind stays like it has been, maybe we should all go fly a kite.
