It happens in every neighborhood. One house has grass so high you could bale it and feed it to cattle in winter, or they collect junk and store it in the FRONT yard. Some even collect cars and trucks storing them on blocks in the side yard.  You don't really want to confront the neighbor but you do want the problem corrected.

The problem is so bad that the Action Line (270-687-4444) took over 600 calls last year about trashy yards.

 

Owensboro's Public Works Dept. can and will help.  Public Works Director Wayne Shelton was on the Joe Lowe Morning Show this morning on 1490 WOMI. Wayne talked about ways citizens can help his property inspectors identify and correct violations of the city code.
